About the Author

Meet the Author/Illustrator – Lucie Duclos!

I grew up in Montreal and studied fine arts and graphic design in college. After college, I worked for a magazine publisher in Montreal. I loved working with teams of writers, photographers and illustrators. When I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, I freelanced for various magazines and catalogs, then got into packaging and surface pattern design. I recently moved to Vancouver Island from Port Townsend in Beautiful Victoria, BC. I enjoy working with a lot of different mediums and techniques from pen and ink to watercolor, monoprints, encaustics, collage, acrylics and bookmaking. I teach Fabric Design classes in person at The Makehouse in Victoria and I teach mixed media classes on skillshare.

I love living in the Pacific Northwest. I especially enjoy the rain. When I was young, I used to spend my summers at our lake cabin up North in Quebec. My mom always planned craft activities for rainy days and I looked forward to hearing her say: “On va faire de l’artisanat!” That’s why I still love rainy days, because for me, they are loaded with potential and possibilities of craft projects!

Rain or shine, it’s time to get creative and start coloring!
I hope you enjoy my book!
