Meet the Author/Illustrator – Lucie Duclos!
I grew up in Montreal and studied fine arts and graphic design in college. After college, I worked for a magazine publisher in Montreal. I loved working with teams of writers, photographers and illustrators. When I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, I freelanced for various magazines and catalogs. After I had my son, I decided to start my own kid’s clothing business and then got into packaging design and surface pattern design.
I moved north to Port Townsend, Washington four years ago and this is really home to me. I love the weather and the beauty that surrounds this place.
I especially enjoy the rain. When I was young, I used to spend my summers at our lake cabin up North in Quebec. My mom always planned craft activities for rainy days and I looked forward to hearing her say: “On va faire de l’artisanat!” That’s why I still love rainy days, because for me, they are loaded with potential and possibilities of craft projects!
I published my first coloring book for adults with my friend Mélina Lamoureux last year: The Pacific Northwest Coloring Book, and it was such a great adventure that I decided to make another one with a Pacific Coast vibe: The West Coast Coloring Book.
Rain or shine, it’s time to get creative and start coloring!
I hope you enjoy my new book!
